Executive profiles

Ronald Brunell, CIC

Ron is President of B&B Coverage LLC. After receiving a B.A. from Plattsburgh State University College, he went on to do graduate work at Ithaca College. In 1989, he received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

He has served as President of both IIA Queens and Kings Counties and the Downstate Insurance Council. Ron has also served on, and continues to serve, on various agency councils. He resides in Woodmere with his wife and two children.

Lewis Bernstein, CIC

Lewis is both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of B&B Coverage LLC. He graduated from Hofstra University in 1983 with a B.B.A. in Accounting and joined the family insurance business under the guidance of his parents, Paul and Barbara Bernstein. In 1989, Lewis received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, and in 1995 entered into a partnership with his childhood friend Ronald Brunell.

Lewis prides himself on his relationships with clients and companies, and serves on various agency councils. As an avid golfer, he is a longstanding member of Engineers Country Club in Roslyn Harbor. Lewis resides in Rockville Centre with his wife and two daughters.

N. Stephen Ruchman, LUTC

Steve is a partner in B&B Coverage LLC, and former Chief Executive of Ruchman Associates Inc., which merged with B&B during the first quarter of 2009. He holds a B.A. degree from Michigan State University, where he majored in insurance, and holds the Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) certification.

Steve is a past President of the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. and has either sat on or chaired nearly every PIANY committee, including the Executive Committee, the Long Island Advisory Council and PIANY's Political Action Committee. He is past President of the Peninsula Counseling Center and a member and past President of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also serves on the Business Advisory Board of the First National Bank of Long Island, is a past Division Chair for the Insurance Division of the United Jewish Appeal, and serves on producer panels for major insurance carriers.

Steve lives in Hewlitt with his wife, and has two grown children who are currently partners in B&B Coverage LLC.

Marcy Ruchman, CIC

Marcy is a partner in B&B Coverage LLC. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in Communications, holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and serves on producer panels for major insurance carriers. She lives in Woodbury with her husband and twin boys.

Meryl Ruchman

Meryl is a partner in B&B Coverage LLC. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin and she serves on producer panels for major insurance carriers. Meryl lives in Rye Brook, NY with her husband and 3 children.
